This is also why we always assess manuscripts we receive to determine the right service for you. Sometimes, we are given books that “are almost done and just need some proofreading,” only to discover that the book needs substantive restructuring and development. Making micro-level edits on a book that still needs major work will result in a lower-quality book (and may cost more in the long run). In such cases, we may recommend alternative services.
